Robert Half Accounts Payable Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our fast‑growing, fast‑paced organization. This is a hands-on, working manager role responsible for both day‑to‑day AP operations and people leadership. The ideal candidate has prior management or team lead experience, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is comfortable driving process improvements as the company scales. NetSuite or similar ERP experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, approvals, payment runs, and vendor management.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team; manage workloads, performance, and ongoing training.

  • Serve as a hands-on manager, stepping into daily processing as needed to support team workload and deadlines.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.

  • Manage AP aging, month-end close tasks, reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Partner with Procurement, Accounting, and FP& A to streamline workflows and resolve discrepancies.

  • Implement process improvements to support scalability, automation, and efficiency.

  • Maintain vendor relationships, resolve payment issues, and negotiate terms when applicable.

  • Oversee 1099 preparation and other year-end AP responsibilities.

  • Utilize NetSuite (preferred) or similar ERP systems to manage AP workflows and reporting.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience, including management or team lead responsibility.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth organization preferred.

  • Strong understanding of AP best practices, internal controls, and process optimization.

  • Hands-on leadership style with willingness to support daily AP activities.

  • Proficiency in NetSuite highly preferred; experience with other ERPs a plus.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
