About the Opportunity The Supervisor, Distribution Engineering (Joint Use) coordinates and supervises the daily activities of an Engineering team, including Distribution Designers; making decisions guided by policies, procedures, and the company's business plan. This position can be located at either the Fairmont Corporate Center in Fairmont, WV, or the Williamsport Service Center in Williamsport, MD. Other locations in the WV / MD service territory will be considered. Responsibilities include: * Demonstrating a high level of safety commitment throughout day-to-day functions and strengthening the Engineering Services team's commitment to safety. * Establishing purchase orders associated to contractor engineering design support. * Overseeing tracking and monitoring of Engineering Contractor work. * Working with internal groups (i.e. planning / scheduling) to provide prioritization. * Working with external customers to ensure we are consistent and meeting their expectations. * Coordinating with Business Services to ensure accurate and timely billing for all CREWS work requests. * Reporting on progress of projects and advising on issues that could impair the successful completion of a project. * Analyzing complex issues and developing actionable recommendations. * Supporting the Work Management organization on questions/issues with current and upcoming design work and various company priorities. * Executing the performance management process by providing feedback and coaching on an ongoing basis throughout the year by discussing development opportunities, performance issues and any changes that may occur as part of the organization. * Leading, educating, and directing others to improve team effectiveness and communicating results and recommendations to varying audiences including senior leadership. * Encouraging open, honest, direct, and ongoing conversation among team members. * Driving for continuous improvement across the team and with our engineering contractors and the company. * Actively seeking process improvement opportunities. * Supporting storm restoration efforts, including performing duties associated with the Hazard Coordinator role. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related technical discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience are required. * OR a Two-year degree in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline, and a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience are required. * Relevant work experience includes, but is not limited to engineering design, reliability, system planning, substation construction and maintenance, distribution construction and maintenance, right of way acquisition, asset management, new business, joint use, etc. Advanced degree is a plus. Professional Engineering (PE) certification is a plus. * Previous supervisory experience preferred. * Experience in process/project development, planning/analysis and performance reporting. * Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems on projects an To view the full job description, click here
