Your Opportunity

Stantec has an exciting Structural Bridge Engineer opportunity available to work in West Virginia. The position assignment will be based in our Charleston, WV office location with flexible work from home or split time (in office/at home) opportunities available for the right candidate. We are seeking strong engineering candidates with a minimum of 8 - 10+ years of bridge engineering and design experience, who will continue our successful delivery of services for our clients. Your Key Responsibilities

  • The majority of work will include bridge projects for the WVDOH, municipalities in West Virginia and surrounding state DOT’s.

  • Key duties include preparation of plans, specifications in accordance with applicable design and agency standards (i.e. AASHTO, ACI, AISC, WVDOH, etc.)

  • Tasks would include but not be limited to performing site visits, bridge analysis of new and existing structures, design and geometry calculations and developing drawings.

  • Position also entails preparing engineering reports and technical studies, and assisting on other projects, as needed.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with WVDOH preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite

  • Ability to design most elements simple bridge structures efficiently with only minimal guidance provided by senior staff

  • Ability to communicate well with peers and to work well in a team environment

  • Registered PE in the state of WV or the ability to become licensed within 12 months, required

  • Bridge load rating experience preferred

  • Bridge rehabilitation experience is preferred

  • A working knowledge of CAD is preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Minimum of 8+ years of bridge engineering & design experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
