SOUTHERN INDUSTRIAL SERVICE LLC Scaffold Builder in Charleston, Tennessee
This position is a critical contributor to the day-to-day operations of the company. Scaffolds builders erect, maintain, and dismantle temporary metal or wood structure ( scaffolds) that allow workers to access high or difficult areas, Primarily in construction and industrial settings. OSHA safety standards and securing platforms to prevent accidents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.
Erection and Dismantling:
Safely construct and tear down scaffolding, including tub-and-clamp or system scaffolds.
2.
Safety Inspection:
Inspect all components (planks, guardrails, bracing) before, during, and after assembly to ensure stability and safety.
3.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to build structure to specification.
4.
Material Handling:
Load, transport, and unload scaffolding components such as poles, planks, and bracing.
5.
Site Prep:
Level the foundation for scaffolding and secure it to permanent structures.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift over 70+ lbs., climb, and work at significant heights.
Technical Skills:
Proficient with hand and power tools such as scaffold wrenches, hammers and tape measures.
Experience
: 1-4 years previous experience in industrial scaffolding building required.
Safety Awareness
: In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards for scaffolding
Typical Working Conditions:
Work in various weather conditions, high-altitude and industrial settings, must be at least 18 years old, must be able to pass drug/alcohol screen.
