Your real-world experience in servicing refrigeration systems is invaluable for training the next generation of technicians. We're looking for skilled professionals who want to share their expertise while continuing to work with the equipment they know best.
Key Responsibilities for Refrigerated Container Technical Instructors:
Deliver instruction grounded in hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing refrigeration systems
Utilize approved course materials and teaching methods while enriching lessons with your field experience
Maintain refrigerated containers to safety standards
Communicate and enforce school policies while advising students on attendance, grades, and discipline
Develop learning aids and assessments
Collaborate with departments to support program goals
Demonstrate professionalism and adjust teaching to accommodate different learning styles
Keep accurate records of attendance and grades
Key Requirements for Refrigerated Container Technical Instructors:
Experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigerated equipment used in intermodal containers and refrigerated semi-truck trailers, including:
Refrigeration systems (compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls)
Diesel-powered generator sets (where applicable)
Electrical systems supporting refrigeration units (sensors, controllers, wiring, and basic diagnostics)
Temperature control systems and monitoring devices
Preventative maintenance and safety inspections for refrigerated equipment
Defect identification, documentation, and compliance with applicable standards
Experience may be gained through work with refrigerated containers (reefers), refrigerated semi-truck trailers, or a combination of both.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong public speaking and interpersonal abilities
Up to 50% travel Monday through Friday
Ability to obtain TWIC card
Required Certification
EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
Welding Certification
IICL Certification
FMCSA Certification
