Summary The incumbent serves as a Program Analyst for (PIMS-Physical Integrated Medicine Service) located at Ralph H. Johnson, in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The primary purpose of the position is to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes necessary to achieve successful adoption and application of new technologies throughout the VHA. Responsibilities This position is located in the Physical Integrated Medicine Service of the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in, Charleston SC. The Analyst is responsible for oversight of clinical data and processes within the service. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Employs advanced tools such as Power BI, Pyramid Analytics, VSSC reports , Consult Toolbox and Consult Tracking Manager to analyze complex data. Develops and implements long and short-range goals, which includes identifying needs and potential issues in productivity and bookability and advising management with recommendations using data trends for service line Collects and analyzes service-specific data to prepare reports for leadership, focusing on consult volumes, timeliness metric and productivity and advising management on process improvements. Creates and maintains all clinic grids for PIMS, develops plans for the measurement and efficiency of quality productivity; conducts grid audits quarterly Tracks and monitors reporting trends related to provider quality and serves as a resource for those submitting concerns and reports to leadership Maintains effective working relationships with all providers Attends meetings regularly and reports clinic data related to PIMS and takes direction when needed. Resolves complaints or grievances from Veterans, caregivers and congressional inquiries Communicates with Veterans, internal, and external customers. Reviews and evaluates the results of and responds to action items Responds timely and professionally to e-mails and any inquires either by e-mail or by telephone Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/17/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Assisting with the use of the electronic health record and associated clinical software along with providing consultation, advisement, and education; extracting, analyzing, and providing data to assess treatment impacts; providing knowledge and assistance in the design of decision support tools; providing relevant clinical and/or administrative input and data to identify, quantify, and resolve organizational problems; working closely with supervisory staff to provide input in the evolution of clinical software and processes; experienced knowledge of VHA operations, national databases (including VISTA architecture and file structure, CPRS, and Cerner); working independently and with minimal supervision; communicating effectively with immediate supervisor and senior leadership; presenting Informatics data in a group format either face-to-face or on Teams; effectively leading a team; reviewing work assignments and determining priority by due dates; and meeting assignment deadlines. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
