Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description
Join one of Charleston's largest civil site contractors as a Heavy Equipment Operator. You'll work on diverse civil site projects within the Charleston area, ensuring minimal travel and the opportunity to be home every night. We seek dedicated individuals willing to engage in both equipment operation and manual labor tasks, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, track hoes, and excavators across various civil site projects.
Assist with manual labor tasks, including shoveling, trench work, and loading/unloading supplies and equipment.
Collaborate with the team to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Participate in tasks beyond equipment operation, ensuring project success.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience with heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, and graders.
Proficiency in fine grading is highly preferred.
Experience with GPS equipment is preferred.
Flexible availability for overtime and possible weekend work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Willingness to submit to a drug test.
Ability to read blueprints and understand civil construction plans.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
