Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, facilities, and capital projects at our two-shift, unionized rubber mixing and molding facility. This position is responsible for driving equipment reliability, managing multiple concurrent projects, and ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. As a leader, you will oversee 8 union maintenance technicians across two shifts, reporting directly to plant leadership. While primarily focused on leadership and project management, the role requires comfort in spending time on the floor and supporting the team in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Lead maintenance operations for 2 rubber mixing lines, 21 molding presses, and supporting equipment.
Drive equipment uptime, reduce downtime, and improve overall plant performance.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
Support PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley Logix experience required; programming not required).
Manage reactive maintenance while improving preventive maintenance effectiveness over time.
Oversee CMMS usage, preventive maintenance scheduling, and work order execution.
Source critical spare parts and manage inventory strategy.
Plan and manage project phases, timelines, budgets, vendors, and contractors.
Drive CAPEX planning and execution.
Coordinate closely with outside vendors and contractors, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Lead and develop 8 union maintenance technicians across two shifts, coordinating workloads and prioritizing demands.
Operate effectively within union agreements, including providing hands-on support when permitted.
Oversee plant utilities including electrical, compressed air, HVAC, and water systems.
Promote safe maintenance practices and enforce LOTO procedures.
Support audits, corrective actions, and environmental compliance.
Drive root cause analysis and long-term reliability improvements.
Identify cost savings and operational improvements, supporting lean initiatives and 5S where applicable.
Essential Skills
5+ years of maintenance management experience overseeing 8+ direct reports.
High-level hands-on maintenance experience.
Project management experience (manage full project lifecycle: scope, budget, scheduling, contractors, and commissioning).
Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel and email communication.
Experience dealing with outside vendors.
PLC troubleshooting experience (Logix preferred; no programming required).
CMMS and preventive maintenance scheduling experience.
Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership.
Comfortable in a reactive maintenance environment while driving improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the rubber industry.
PLC programming skills.
Engineering degree or relevant bachelor's degree.
Union experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
