KBR is seeking a Principal Program Operations Specialist to provide advanced operational, analytical, and coordination support across National Security Solutions (NSS) programs. This role supports both pre‑award and post‑award activities, partnering closely with Operations, Program Management, Growth, and Finance to ensure continuity from proposal development through contract execution.
The Principal Program Operations Specialist operates with a high degree of independence, applying judgment and experience to solve complex problems, support program readiness, and drive execution excellence across multiple efforts
Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior‑level operational support to approved Bid & Proposal (B&P) efforts, including:
Supporting capture and proposal teams through planning, analysis, and execution activities
Coordinating schedules, deliverables, and cross‑functional inputs
Developing and maintaining proposal artifacts, analyses, and supporting documentation
Transition seamlessly into direct program execution support post‑award, including:
Operational planning and execution support
Tracking program performance metrics, risks, issues, and actions
Supporting program transition, startup, and steady‑state operations
Serve as a trusted partner to Operations and Program leadership, providing insight, analysis, and recommendations to support decision‑making
Coordinate across Operations, Growth, Finance, and Program Management teams to ensure alignment on priorities, resources, and execution timelines
Develop and improve operational processes, tools, and documentation to enhance program effectiveness
Prepare briefings, reports, and materials for senior leadership reviews
Work Environment:
Location: On-site; Chantilly, VA
Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
Working Hours: Standard
Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field
Security Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph
Experience: Significant experience supporting government programs, operations, or proposal efforts
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and manage complex workstreams
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Experience working across pre‑award (B&P) and post‑award program environments
Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders across multiple functions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting B&P, capture, or pursuit activities
Experience transitioning from proposal support into direct program execution
Familiarity with federal contracting environments
