Aerotek Plant Operator – Entry-Level / Will Train in Channahon, Illinois

Plant Operator – Entry-Level / Will Train

Pay: $30 to $35/ hr (DOE) + OT (if applicable)

Location: Channahon, IL (outdoor facility work)

What you’ll do

  • Start up and help operate a new RNG facility

  • Do daily inspections, general maintenance, and basic repairs

  • Work on compressors, pumps, piping, and gas meters

  • Troubleshoot issues (find the problem, fix it, document it)

  • Perform oil changes and fix oil leaks on pipes

  • Calibrate / maintain field equipment; coordinate vendor repairs if needed

  • Help oversee subcontractors on-site

  • Send daily updates: field conditions, test results, and daily logs

What you need (must-haves)

  • 1+ year in mechanical maintenance / plant ops / industrial work

  • Comfortable with hand tools , troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance

  • Experience (or exposure) to compressors, pumps, piping , hydraulics

  • Computer smarts: basic data entry, logging, reading SOPs, following checklists

  • Able to work outdoors and handle physical work (walking inspections, lifting tools, driving between areas)

Nice to have (not required)

  • Associate’s degree or military mechanical experience

  • Background in chemical, oil & gas, power plant, liquid processing, or similar environments

Schedule / Work conditions

  • Outdoor work in heat/cold and changing weather

  • PPE/clothing: steel toe boots, jeans (no holes), long sleeves

  • Once operational: 40 hours/week with rotating coverage

  • On-call in a 24/7 operation will rotate

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Channahon, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
