Dignity Health Sterile Processing Technician in Chandler, Arizona

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Decontaminates surgical instruments and other medical equipment. Assembles, prepares and packages surgical instruments and equipment, and processes using various methods of high/low temp sterilization and disinfection. Maintains quality control and biological monitoring systems for sterilization processes. Answers the telephone and responds to requests for sterile instruments and supplies. Prepares and distributes case carts and sterile supplies. Utilizes computer system for case cart stock supply, stock return, and electronic instrument management system.

Daily Operations:

  • Prepares and delivers case carts. Utilizes aseptic technique when handling and distributing sterile instruments and supplies.

  • Decontaminates surgical instruments and other medical equipment.

  • Prepares and wraps instrument sets for various methods of sterilization.

  • Answers telephone, fills orders, issues and stocks supplies.

  • Utilizes various methods of high/low temp sterilization and disinfection.

  • Maintains quality control records for all sterilizers.

  • Utilizes computer for department specific supply picklists and Goods/Issue/Returns.

  • Utilizes instrument tracking system.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School Graduate HS/GED, upon hire

Preferred:

  • Prefer completion of a surgical instrument technician program or 2 years surgical instrument experience.

Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Chandler, the Chandler Regional Medical Center is a 429-bed, not-for-profit hospital with more than 2,600 team members and almost 1,000 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. Chandler Regional joined the Dignity Health system in 1999, but has been part of the community for more than 50 years. Since 1991, Dignity Health's Community Health Improvement Grants program has provided $91 million to nearly 3,800 health projects, focusing on vulnerable and underserved populations.

Pay Range

$18.60 - $23.71 /hour
