Four Maples Vineyard and Winery Inc Vineyard Technician in Champlain, New York

1 full time, temporary, seasonal H-2A position available 03/15/2026 - 12/15/2026.

All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Box A.3 & A.4. Job duties include planting vines, maintenance of and repair of vineyard infrastructure (trellising, posts etc.), maintenance of vineyard (mowing, weeding, rototilling etc.), maintenance and care of vines, (training, tying, pruning, cluster-thinning, trimming and general canopy management, covering vines with nets and installing wildlife deterrents, applying fungicide), scouting for vine diseases and reporting in writing to employer. Only Certified workers will apply fungicide. Training will be provided by employer at no cost to the worker.

In addition, workers will keep maintenance of equipment according to maintenance schedule (mower, tractor, sprayer, trimmer rototillers, ATV's etc., to keep them clean and ready to use and to have equipment repaired by appropriate authorized repair shop when necessary). Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Workers will be compensated at the correct rate of pay for all hours worked, including when they are performing the employers obligation of driving. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver's license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty.

Harvesting grapes, bringing the harvested grapes to the winery and proceeding with the crushing, de-stemming, pressing and bringing the wine/must into tank. Will help with cleaning of tanks and other equipment in the winery including but not limited to de-stemming and crushing equipment. Cleaning of oak barrels, filling and maintenance. Monitoring the water softener systems and equipment in the estate, Winterize the vineyard. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the worker to satisfactorily perform the duties described in the job description. Workers may be required to work 7 hours shift within the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm from Monday and Tuesday, and workers may require to work 7-hour shift within the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm from Thursday to Saturday. Workers get a 30-minute Lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as agreed upon by management. Workers can choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. Worker must be able to take directions in simple English.
