Mountain Pines Campground Activities Staff in Champion, Pennsylvania

Summary of Job

The Activities staff is responsible for creating activities for our customers.  This position is an enthusiastic and outgoing creator of fun for all ages - engaging customers in activities and actively participating.  Activities include crafts for all ages, games for children, movies for families and helping with special events.

The campground encourages all staff to strive for an environment that promotes creativity, teamwork, respect and consideration for one another.  We will foster an environment that builds teamwork and challenges one another to perform exceptionally.

 

Seasonal work is described as temporary work that occurs around the same period each year.  Generally, Activity staff are needed April -- November.

Requirements

This position requires staff to be enthusiastic, engaging, flexible, outgoing and enjoy playing games and guiding activities with youth and adults alike. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Encourage active participation in all events
  • Actively participate and engage with customer
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate weekend events to encourage socialization, fun and recreation
  • Handle logistics to make the event possible - such as managing inventory, coordinating pick up of supplies, proactive planning and preparation of materials the week before activities take place
  • Observe customers at events to gauge their enjoyment and obtain feedback to make improvements
  • Ability to create a fun environment no matter what the activity is
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing and patient with all customers
  • Ability to modify activity to accommodate any special needs customers
  • Responsible for pictures that can be used for marketing purposes
  • A valid driver license is required to drive staff golf carts
  • Keep a clean and organized activity and movie theatre area

     

Uniform

Tan pants, shorts or capris and uniform shirt.  Open toe shoes are not permitted.  All shorts must be mid-thigh length or longer.

Detailed Job Duties

 

Description May -- October

Activities start May 1st

Three staff needed on activities team

 

Friday activities start at 4pm and ends at 9 or 10 pm

Saturday staff needed at 9 am -- activities start at 10 am and end at .  Two staff are needed on Saturday.

Sunday staff needed at 9 am activities start at 10 am and end at 4 pm (6 hours)

 

You are not passively guiding the activities but actively participating, encouraging, creating excitement and giving positive feedback

Proactively engaging with customers who range from children to adult age

Create a fun atmosphere/activity

Don't refuse customer when there are 2 on shift and 1 can stay to continue activity while the other one moves to next activity

Is there a certain age that kids are not permitted to attend on their own

 

Daily

Wipe tables and chairs

rganize supplies

Turn in money to office.  The activities till is $50

 

Charging for Activities

Some activities have a charge -- t-shirts, pumpkins, etc.

The daily till is $50 

If you should need additional smaller bills the office can you change out larger bills for you

Turn in your activity sheet at the end of the day noting the quantity of each activity that was sold

                                                                          

Cleaning on Sundays

All activity staff will share in the cleaning and organizing responsibilities

Cleaning can easily take place during the movie with the exception of vacuuming the theatre room floor, cushions and under cushions

Bathrooms -- clean sinks and toilets; replenish toilet paper and paper towels as needed

Activity room -- sweep, mop, wipe tables and chairs, clean and organize supplies

Proactive planning for next week's activities to ensure that sufficient products are on hand

Vacuum theatre room and chapel floor

Vacuum theatre room cushions and under cushions

Clean counters in theatre room

Sweep outside porch area

Clean bathrooms
