Production tasks often rotate between several stations to ensure continuous operations:
- Sorting & Grading: Inspecting eggs on conveyor belts to identify and manually remove those that are cracked, leaking, or blood-spotted.
- Packing & Palletizing: Placing egg cartons or flats into crates, boxes, or onto racks and securely stacking them on pallets for transport.
- Machine Operation: Setting up, running, and monitoring egg-packing machinery and robotic components, ensuring labels and date stamps are accurate and readable.
- Quality Control: Verifying that products meet USDA and company standards for cleanliness, size, and weight.
- Sanitation: Regularly cleaning and sterilizing work areas, machines, and conveyors to prevent contamination and maintain USDA hygiene standards.
- Material Handling: Using pallet jacks or forklifts to move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods throughout the facility.
