WellSpan Health Manager - Central Sterile Processing - Days in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
Full Time (80 Hours/ Biweekly)
Shift: Days
Monday through Friday
General Summary
Oversees the activities of the hospital's central supply personnel regarding stocking and furnishing of sterile and nonsterile supplies and equipment.
Essential Functions:
Oversees sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
Establishes and oversees methods for preparing, handling and storing sterile equipment and materials.
Directs the requisitioning, sorting, labeling and issuing of professional equipment.
Recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
Develops and recommends department/entity operating budget and ensures that department/entity operates within budget.
Creates policies and procedures for inventory control and issuance of supplies and equipments.
Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).
Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation, and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.
Establishes and maintains department/entity safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).
Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for top management, as required.
Recommends sufficient space and other resources required by the department/service line/entity.

Maintains inventory records and submits requisitions to ensure that adequate supply levels are kept on hand.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required
Associates Degree Preferred
Work Experience:
2 years Relevant experience Required and
3 years Supervisory experience Required
Licenses:
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician Upon Hire Preferred
