Job Description
The General Production Worker supports daily manufacturing operations by working at various production stations, inspecting and packaging products, and assisting machine operators to keep production running safely and efficiently. This role requires the ability to accurately use a tape measure, follow established procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work area in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Work at different production stations as needed based on daily production requirements.
Inspect products for quality, weigh items as required, and package finished goods according to specifications.
Monitor the flow of product into processing machinery and promptly address irregularities by notifying appropriate personnel.
Assist and help prepare rolls and materials for the machine operator to ensure smooth machine operation.
Verify compliance with quality, safety, and production standards, and ensure adherence to work rules and efficient operation of equipment.
Report potential downtime, production scrap, and machine quality issues to support continuous improvement and minimize waste.
Empty the bailer when full and perform related tasks to keep equipment operating safely and effectively.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sweeping around the bailer and keeping work areas free of debris.
Use a tape measure accurately to verify measurements and ensure products meet required specifications.
Perform general labor tasks such as packing and shipping as needed to support overall warehouse and manufacturing operations.
Participate in training on day shift and apply learned procedures consistently when transitioning to second shift.
Essential Skills
At least 6 months of prior warehouse or manufacturing experience.
Ability to accurately use a tape measure for product and material measurements.
Experience with general production or machine operation in a manufacturing setting.
Proficiency in basic packaging and packing tasks for finished products.
Ability to perform cycle counts and handle basic shipping-related activities.
Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality standards.
Comfort working around running machinery in a fast-paced production environment.
Reliability and flexibility to work 10-hour shifts, including Saturdays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience supporting machine operators or working as a machine operator is beneficial.
Background in general labor roles within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Strong attention to detail when inspecting, weighing, and packaging products.
Willingness to rotate between different stations and tasks as production needs change.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing environment with running machines and active production lines. The facility operates as a growing startup in the Chambersburg, PA area with a corporate location in Illinois. This is a second shift position, with standard working hours of approximately 5:00 p.m. until finish, currently operating 10-hour shifts. All employees train on first shift for several weeks, with training hours typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and occasional Saturday hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All employees must remain flexible to work 10-hour days, including Saturdays, as production demands require. The work involves standing for extended periods near machinery, performing manual tasks such as packing, shipping, and cleaning around equipment, and wearing appropriate attire suitable for a manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
