Shift: Evenings
Job responsibilities:
Provides direct care to adult and geriatric LTC residents
Provides supervision of residents who need supervision in performing their own ADL’s and assist as needed
Provide opportunities for residents to maintain their independence. Ambulates residents who are able to ambulate.
Report to charge nurse or supervisor when ambulating becomes difficult or unsafe.
ROM to maintain status of the resident as directed.
Uses correct body mechanics when moving, lifting and transferring residents to promote safety of the resident
Uses mechanical devices to assist with moving, lifting and transferring of residents to promote safety of the resident as well as themselves
Communicate changes in resident’s condition to appropriate members of the health care team
Follow directions of charge nurse or supervisor with regard to implementing interventions to reduce pressure ulcer development
Follow universal precautions for infection control
Works to enhance resident satisfaction and addresses problems as they occur.
Works to promote a positive atmosphere in LTC
Works to emulate mercy Mission of Reverence, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence each day.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of state-approved certified nursing assistant training program required.
Current/valid state issued Certified Nurse Assistant certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American
Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or Advanced Care Life Support
(ACLS) required.
