Jacobs Parks and Facilities Operations Manager - Centennial, CO in Centennial, Colorado

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Parks and Facilities Operations Manager to join the Facilities/Parks/Fleet Maintenance Services Division, also referred to as Maintenance Services, at the City of Centennial project in Centennial, CO. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, planning, directing, organizing and administering the operations and maintenance of client facilities and parks, including providing construction management of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and executes all functions related to maintenance of facilities interior and exterior, parks and grounds maintenance, and fleet vehicles.

• Develops and implements short- and long-term plans, goals, and objectives

• Oversight of 11-acres award winning Centennial Center Park

• Land management of a 53-acres of open space management for the Parker Jordan Centennial Open Space

• General maintenance for two facility campuses

• Formulates and updates policies, procedures and standards for operations

• Participating in event planning and staffing requirements for the events

• Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulations for managing infrastructure for projects

• Manages the inspection, planning, programming, scheduling, repair, and maintenance, including preventative maintenance.

• Provides construction management / oversight for projects, including budgeting, cost estimating and control, procurement, reporting, and contract compliance

• Serves as the on-site point of contact with contractors, employees, other City departments, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information or resolve problems

• Manage the maintenance of the City fleet currently consisting of 12 vehicles, performing routine inspections and scheduling routine maintenance

• Provide safe snow removal operations as required in the MS scope of work to the facilities and parks grounds

• Develops, recommends, and monitors the client’s budget, determining future needs and assessing resources required to accomplish divisional goals; reviews purchase requisitions and authorizes approval based upon the City’s goals and budgetary guidelines

• Participates in meetings with other City departments and staff, City Council, and outside agencies to provide support, which may require work performed outside normal working hours.

• Performs other similar duties as assigned

•Ten years’ experience in managing facilities and parks maintenance management, including five (5) years in a supervisory role

•HVAC / Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing (MEP) experience with the ability to train, audit and monitor direct reports and subcontractors in operations of work

•Ability to read and interpret complex building and landscape design drawings, plans, and technical specifications as well as regulatory and trade codes

•Experience in all aspects of park and facility landscape maintenance and construction, including turf grasses, native grass, trees, shrubs, flowers, beds

•Knowledge of current landscaping principles, methods, and best management practices to include operations and maintenance of irrigation systems, landscape treatments, and park assets

•Playground Safety Inspection certification through NRPA or ability to obtain within one year of hire date.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other employees, government officials, contractors, suppliers, and the public

•Must possess and maintain a current driver’s license with no major infractions

•Must be capable of personally driving a company vehicle in the performance of the duties contained herein

Ideally, You'll Also Have

•Associate’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or a directly related field, or additional two (2) years’ experience in lieu of degree
