Job Description:
Provides quality classes by preparing lessons in advance and offering classes in accordance with organizational policies.
Supervises each participant for safety during all phases of the class and professionally corrects participants as necessary.
Greets members and staff with exemplary service and empathy.
Reports all incidences or injuries using the proper forms and submits them to the Group Fitness Manager, following up as required.
Ensures appropriate coverage of classes in the case of illness, injury, or vacation.
Shift: PRN/ As needed to teach group fitness classes. Typically, once a week or more.
Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience:
• 1+ years experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) [Required] OR Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) [Required] OR Aquatic Fitness Professional Certification (AEA) [Required] OR Certified Barre Instructor (BARRE) [Required] OR Group Fitness Instructor Certification - American Council on Exercise (ACE-GFI) [Required] OR Les Mills Fitness Certification (LMFC) [Required] OR National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) [Required] OR Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) [Required] OR YOGA Certified (YOGA) [Required] OR Zumba Instructor (ZUMBA) [Required] OR Personal Trainer Certification (PTC) [Required] OR ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) - EV Accredited Issuing Body [Required]
