Overview
AbbeHealth Services - is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mental health and aging services that help individuals achieve their optimum levels of independence and success.
The Cook is primarily responsible for preparation of entrees, vegetables, soups, cereals, sauces, fried items and other food serviced from the production area. Other responsibilities include proper handling and storage of all food and sanitation of work the work area. It is the goal to produce attractive, palatable, nutritious, and safe food to all our customers.

Responsibilities
Prepare and produce hot food items, supporting ordering, portioning, and assembly to ensure timely service
Handle, store, and maintain food safely and cost-effectively in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards
Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures, maintaining equipment cleanliness and proper operation
Follow recipes and procedures to ensure high-quality, safe, and appealing meals
Train team members, maintain cleaning logs, manage food inventory, and help reduce waste
Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence in alignment with UnityPoint Health values
Qualifications
Education
Must be at least 18 years old.
Qualifications/Experience
High School/GED preferred or equivalent job experience that demonstrates significant knowledge and experience in high quality food production as well as food sanitation and safety requirements.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Food Handler Certification
• SERVSAFE upon hire.
IA/IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required within 90 days of hire.
IA/IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing Care required within 90 days of hire.
