Construction Laborer – $22/hour

Location: Cascade, IA – Projects commonly in Cedar

Rapids, IA/Iowa City, IA

We are hiring Construction Laborers to help with quality pre-engineered metal buildings and structural steel & precast erection on all types of commercial projects in Cedar Rapids, IA and Cascade, IA (work is 50/50 in Cascade and CR/Iowa City).

Job Duties

• Help install metal framing, posts, and sheet metal

• Use basic hand tools and power tools (drills, etc.)

• Assist with insulation and simple interior work

• Move tools, materials, and supplies around the job site

• Help keep the work area clean and organized

• Work from ladders or lifts when needed

• Follow safety rules and instructions from lead workers

Requirements

• At least 1+ year of commercial construction or labor experience

• Valid driver’s license (no exceptions-must have)

• Reliable vehicle

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly

• Comfortable working at heights (up to 20+ feet)

• Able to use basic hand and power tools

• Reliable, hard-working, and safety-minded

• Able to work outdoors on construction sites

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with metal buildings or sheet metal

• Framing, carpentry, or general construction experience

• Experience working on a construction crew

Schedule & Work Environment

• Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (home by 5 every night)

• New construction buildings (not occupied)

• Jeans, t-shirt/sweatshirt, and work boots required

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
