Job Description
This role supports a modern production environment and involves performing a variety of assembly and production tasks that require following work instructions and engineering documentation. You will perform a wide range of production operator functions, including mechanical and/or electrical assembly, kitting, testing, packaging, product identification, and material handling. You follow established operating procedures, work orders, and blueprints or diagrams to accurately assemble and prepare products while maintaining quality and safety standards in a clean, climate‑controlled facility.
Responsibilities
Perform mechanical, electrical, or general assembly tasks according to established operating procedures and work instructions.
Carry out kitting and material preparation activities, ensuring all components are correctly gathered and organized for production.
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and written instructions to assemble products accurately.
Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and correctly to complete assembly responsibilities.
Inspect, test, package, and label products in accordance with quality standards and customer requirements.
Handle materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring proper identification and movement within the production area.
Work from work orders and task lists with minimal assistance, managing tasks efficiently and independently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with company safety and housekeeping standards.
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and report any issues or defects promptly.
Cross‑train and support other departments as needed to meet production demands.
Follow basic computer‑based processes related to work orders, documentation, and production tracking.
Complete other related duties as assigned by production management.
Essential Skills
Experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment (mechanical, electrical, or general assembly).
Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, work instructions, and bills of materials.
Familiarity with using hand and power tools safely for assembly work.
Ability to perform kitting, organizing, and preparing components for production.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Basic math skills to support measurements, counts, and production tasks.
Basic computer skills to follow work orders and production documentation.
Ability to stand for 8 or more hours per day and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
Ability to work independently from task lists with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in mechanical, electrical, electronic, or precision assembly is beneficial.
Experience with testing, inspection, or soldering is a plus.
Comfort working independently and as part of a team in a production setting.
Willingness to cross‑train in other areas to support changing production needs.
Flexibility to work additional hours as needed based on production demands.
Interest in a contract position with potential for longer‑term opportunity based on performance.

This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
