City of Cedar Hills ASSISTANT GOLF DIRECTOR in CEDAR HILLS, Utah

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Golf Director supports the Golf Director and Community Services Director with activities related to the management and operation of the Cedar Hills Golf Club and its programs.  This individual will be key to providing elevated customer service and golfing expertise to club guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in the operation of the Pro Shop, including inventory control, point of sale systems, and cleanliness and organization of club repair area and countertops
  • Oversees and marketing of the golf simulators and assists with the fitting station
  • Manages short course activities, including hosting corporate and night tournaments, and coordination of junior clinics
  • Supports marketing efforts and promotions with current passholders and new customers
  • Helps members and patrons understand golf rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Supports planning and execution of tournaments and special events.
  • Oversees staff schedules for Pro Shop, cart personnel, marshals and volunteers.  Provide support when there are staffing gaps and manage staff accountability.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Golf Director or Community Services Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Overall knowledge of golf course operations, including tournament management

·         Positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude when interacting with customers and staff

·         Must work well with others and also work efficiently without supervision

·         Strong communication skills when handling a variety of staff and customer experience feedback

·         Understanding of basic business operations, communications, and marketing

* QUALIFICATIONS:*

·         Strong passion and knowledge of the golf course industry

·         Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; able to lift/carry 50 pounds

SALARY:

Starting salary is $22.00-26.50 per hour depending on experience. Benefits package includes paid retirement into State Retirement System, fully paid family medical/dental plans, paid holidays, paid vacation/sick leave, life insurance policy and 401k/457 Employer Contribution in lieu of Social Security participation.

SCHEDULE:

This is a 40-hour per week, benefited position.  There is some schedule flexibility based on coordination with the Golf Director on necessary tasks, weather, available equipment, etc
