MW Industries Machine Operator I - Trimmer-Driller in Cedar Grove, New Jersey

SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator I is responsible for performing the essential manufacturing steps of part trimming and drilling, meeting daily production needs in manufacturing quality parts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Trim plated parts to print specifications utilizing manual and programmable Lathes.
Core drill parts using equipment including manual drill presses, lathes and programmable HAAS Drilling machines
Program HAAS machines for drilling operations.
Performs preventative maintenance including fluid changes, lubrication and cleaning of machines when needed/directed by the Lead / Supervisor
Accurately record production information on paper travellers and in the ERP system
Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
Follows schedules and procedures
Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
Assists other operators if necessary
Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work; required to notify Supervisor or Lead if quality requirement is unclear or questionable
All other duties as assigned
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.
Computer literacy
Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, comparator, height gauge, etc.
Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.

SALARY RANGE:
$18.00 - $21.00/Hour based on experience and ability to perform work independently.
