Cañon City is proud of their rich heritage and many cultural and artistic venues. Located in the Southcentral portion of Colorado, it is a Home Rule Municipality and the county seat of Fremont County. It is a Council-Administrator form of government with the Administrator reporting directly to the City Council. Cañon City was founded in 1858 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush and was originally intended as a commercial center for mining in South Park and the upper Arkansas River. With a city population of over 16,700, Cañon City straddles the easterly flowing Arkansas River and is a popular tourist destination for whitewater rafting, sightseeing and rock climbing.
ABOUT THE POSITION

Under general direction from the Director of Long-Range Planning, responsible for researching, writing and coordinating the grant application process, management of proposals and collaborating with key stakeholders.

Research new grant opportunities and maintain an up-to-date grants calendar.
· Write, edit, and submit high-quality, persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOI), and applications.

Manage proposal submission processes to ensure timely submission of all required application and reporting materials.
· Develop and maintain relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders, work with key stakeholders to compile financials and data.
· Compile and maintain inventory of existing City grants and grant programs.
