*Job Description *

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant supports the delivery of speech and language services to students with communication disorders. The SLPA assists in implementing therapy plans designed by the SLP to help students access the general education curriculum and achieve progress toward IEP goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs and therapy plans developed by the supervising SLP
  • Implement instructional and therapeutic activities to address expressive, receptive, articulation, fluency, voice, and pragmatic language needs
  • Collect and maintain accurate data on student performance and progress and share data with the supervising SLP
  • Assist the supervising SLP with preparation of materials, documentation, and progress reports
  • Support Medicaid documentation and compliance requirements as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Maintain confidential student records in accordance with FERPA and school policies
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success
  • Communicate appropriately with parents and caregivers as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development as appropriate
  • Establish and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Assist with student supervision and school activities as assigned
  • Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to contracted work hours
  • Implement and comply with district and school policies and procedures
  • Perform related duties as assigned by administration in accordance with school policies

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and common communication disorders
  • Ability to implement evidence-confirmed therapy techniques under supervision
  • Skills in data collection, organization, and record keeping
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from the supervising SLP
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
  • Proficiency with basic technology and willingness to learn school-based software systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional ethics

Licensing / Credential / Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field
  • Valid Colorado Department of Education Speech-Language Pathology Assistant authorization or eligibility
  • Completion of required supervised fieldwork or practicum hours as required by CDE
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed and endorsed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Prior school-based xperience preferred
  • Successful background check

Job Types: Full-time, willing to consider a part time position. 

Pay: $35,000--$50,000
