Bell Cross Ranch LLC (ED Ranch Services) Ranch Hand in Cascade, Montana

Period of Intended Employment: 3/1/2026  - 10/31/2026  

43 hrs/wk Mon - SaT 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

 

We operate a cattle ranch and need seasonal employees to assist in then spring, summer and early fall. 

Our calving season starts in March and ends in May. 

Employees will be assisting with calving as needed. 

In May, cattle are turned to pastures and will need to be tended to and rotated to avoid over-grazing the pastures. 

In October, cattle are moved to winter pastures where they stay until the spring and no care or additional help is needed until the next calving season.

Employees will also be assisting with crops as needed.

 

Job duties will include: attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers clean work areas and maintain grounds, dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, trap and destroy pests, such as moles, gophers, and mice, using pesticides, plant crops, trees, or other plants clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps, feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies, groom, clip, trim, or castrate animals, dock ears and tails, or shear coats to collect hair, herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures, inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences, mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos, patrol grazing lands on horseback or using all-terrain vehicles, shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food, care for animals, clean equipment or facilities Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer's discretion. 

Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion.

The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration),cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g., adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries and/or other incidentals.

Accurate completion of Form I-9 will be required from each worker within (3) days of employment and/or hiring of individual referre through the clearance system. All candidates must be able to communicate in English to ensure safety at the workplace. 

 

Family housing not available. Housing will be clean & meet applicable Fed, State and local housing standards. Workers must maintain neat & clean housing.
