Job Summary:

The Mechanic Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities of the AIS Infrastructure fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of the company's construction and industrial services projects. The Mechanic Foreman must possess a strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of technicians in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.

  • Research, source, and schedule all the equipment parts and materials needed for the projects.

  • Review accuracy and process timecards for all subordinates.

  • Review, scrutinize, and process all service and parts invoices.

  • Communicate, schedule, and update job site managers about machine issues and repair schedules.

  • Determine the best repair path and schedule company or dealer technicians to make repairs accordingly.

  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.

  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair of difficult issues on machines.

  • Daily review preventive maintenance inspections and oil sample reports to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failure.

  • Maintain accurate E360 records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, work performed, and equipment status.

  • Schedule preventive maintenance with company technicians or appropriate equipment dealers.

  • Coordinate the shipping and transportation of all parts and equipment.

Requirements and Education:

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle and construction equipment mechanics, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.

  • Ability to lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians effectively.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.

Preferred Requirements and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy equipment maintenance industry.

  • Technical certification or degree in automotive or especially heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance, best practices and industry standards.

  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, equipment, and software used in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
