Mechanical Engineering Lead
Mechanical Engineering lead is responsible for technical leadership, system-level mechanical design and execution of mechanical engineering projects from concept to production. Job Summary
Lead & execute ECO’s, R&D and NPI projects
Lead design reviews and ensure design meets performance and reliability targets
Lead customer meetings, providing technical information and project status
Lead and mentor mechanical engineers
Organize work load for team members
Create & validate concept designs
Coordinate with Design Engineering Lead on project timeline execution
Support field issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Partner with manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and scalable
Owns mechanical architecture and detailed design of products.
Maintain mechanical engineering standards
Drive mechanical development across the full product lifecycle (concept, design, prototyping, testing, validation, production support)
Create and manage mechanical project plans, schedules, and risk assessments
Ensure timely delivery of mechanical deliverables within scope and budget
Provide technical guidance, design feedback, and career development support
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews for mechanical team members
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated capability leading product development from concept to production
Demonstrated capability leading team and organizing work assignments
Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.
Demonstrated knowledge of design, manufacturing, assembly and test processes together with work measurement and work standards.
Experience in machine design, materials selection, and tolerance analysis. Mechanical design background of electromechanical motors and resolver technology, including their components, is a plus.
Expertise of 3D solid modeling software required, Solidworks is preferred.
Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.
Prior experience with an ISO-9000 AS-9000 environment is a plus.
Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.
Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Flexible with high energy, able to handle multiple tasks smoothly.
Required Experience and Education
BS in Mechanical Engineering. MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred.
Professional Engineering license is not required but is a plus.
3+ years experience in engineering functions consistent with the specific position requirements.
