Design Engineering Lead
Design Engineering lead is responsible for technical leadership, system-level mechanical design and execution of mechanical engineering projects from concept to production. This role combines hands-on engineering with leadership, cross-functional collaboration and ownership of technical quality, schedule and risk mitigation

Job Summary
Lead design reviews and ensure design meets performance and reliability targets
Lead task execution ensuring results on time and right first time
Lead and mentor design engineers
Organizing workload for design team
Cooperate with other departments on priority execution
Create & maintain department design standards
Create training plans for design engineers,
Create & validate concept designs
Partner with manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and scalable
Drive ECO and DMR execution
Drive mechanical development across the full product lifecycle (concept, design, prototyping, testing, validation, production support)
Create and manage workload schedules
Ensure timely delivery of design deliverables within scope and budget
Provide technical guidance, design feedback, and career development support
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews for Design team members
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated capability leading team and organizing work assignments
Demonstrated capability creating concept mechanical designs, R&D design investigations
Expertise of 3D solid modeling software required, Solidworks is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of design, manufacturing, assembly and test processes together with work measurement and work standards.
Experience in machine design, materials selection, and tolerance analysis. Mechanical design background of electromechanical motors and resolver technology, including their components, is a plus.
Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.
Prior experience with an ISO-9000 AS-9000 environment is a plus.
Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.
Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Flexible with high energy, able to handle multiple tasks smoothly.
Required Experience and Education
BS in Mechanical Engineering. MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred.
Professional Engineering license is not required but is a plus.
3+ years experience in engineering functions consistent with the specific position requirements.
Base Compensation: USD 95,000.00 - 120,000.00 Paid Salaried
