CBRE Mobile Facilities Technician (Carmichael, CA) in Carmichael, California

About the Role:

As a CBRE Mobile Facilities Technician, you will oversee and maintain a portfolio of nine healthcare office sites. This role requires extensive travel within Carmichael, Folsom, and occasionally Sacramento, CA, utilizing a company-provided work van. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a wide range of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks across various building systems, ensuring operational efficiency and a safe environment for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an autonomous individual who excels at managing their own schedule and providing exceptional client service.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed building systems, equipment, and infrastructure across a portfolio of nine clinical office sites.

  • Travel primarily between Carmichael, CA (at least weekly for routine maintenance) and Folsom, CA (at least monthly for routine maintenance).

  • Conduct in-depth maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems, including boilers, air handling units, and associated controls.

  • Execute plumbing maintenance tasks, including unclogging, fixture installation (e.g., sinks), and leak repairs.

  • Address general maintenance needs such as hanging fixtures, installing lighting, and other facility improvements.

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on various facility equipment, including HVAC systems and lighting.

  • Ensure timely completion and accurate tracking of all assigned work orders, from initial assessment to resolution.

  • Collaborate directly with site clients to effectively schedule maintenance activities, optimizing efficiency and minimizing disruption to operations.

  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations during all installations and repairs.

  • Support energy management initiatives by identifying and implementing measures to ensure all building systems operate at peak efficiency.

  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems as required.

  • Maintain a professional and client-focused demeanor while interacting with staff and visitors at all sites.

  • Use communication skills to exchange straightforward information. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.

  • Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.

  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You’ll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid Driver’s License required.

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

  • Proven expertise in HVAC systems, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various components (boilers, units).

  • Solid understanding and experience with plumbing systems, including repairs and installations.

  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting of facility equipment.

  • Ability to perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a demanding schedule independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction and collaboration.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for work order management and documentation.

  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.

  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.

  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.

  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Mobile Technician position is $70,000 annually [or $33.65 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Mobile Technician position is $75,000 annually [or $36.06 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
