Summary
We are seeking an Associate AI Engineer with strong foundational software engineering skills and an interest in building and operating generative AI applications. You will work with senior engineers to develop AI-powered services, integrate LLMs into product workflows, and learn best practices for secure, observable, and maintainable AI systems in production.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.
What You’ll Do (Major Responsibilities)
Build AI-enabled features and services by implementing components of production applications that integrate LLMs and other generative models under guidance from senior engineers.
Support context engineering and agent workflows by helping implement prompt templates, tool/function calling, retrieval (RAG) components, and evaluation approaches.
Contribute to APIs and integrations by developing and maintaining RESTful endpoints and service-to-service integrations for AI capabilities.
Assist with CI/CD and testing by adding unit/integration tests, supporting deployment workflows, and helping automate basic checks for AI services and model-related code.
Participate in reliability and observability by responding to alerts with the team, reviewing logs/metrics, assisting in incident triage, and contributing to post-incident follow-ups.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and platform partners to understand requirements and deliver incremental improvements.
Contribute to code quality and documentation through code reviews (as a reviewer and reviewee), clear PRs, and maintain technical notes and runbooks.
Run reproducible experiments by documenting results, tracking configurations, and helping maintain reusable utilities for evaluation and prototyping.
What you need to succeed:
0–3 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, projects, or full-time) in software engineering, data engineering, or ML engineering
Proficiency in Python; familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript (or willingness to learn for integration work)
Experience building applications in React
Experience building or consuming REST APIs (coursework/projects acceptable)
Exposure to at least one cloud platform (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable) through coursework, labs, or projects
Basic understanding of software engineering fundamentals: version control (Git), debugging, testing, and code organization
Strong communication skills, ability to learn quickly, and comfort working in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Project experience with generative AI/LLMs, including prompt engineering and/or RAG patterns
Familiarity with tools such as FastAPI, React, and a database (e.g., Cosmos DB, Postgres)
Exposure to vector databases / search (e.g., PgVector, Pinecone, Azure AI Search)
Basic familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.) and/or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep/ARM)
Awareness of MLOps concepts (model evaluation, monitoring, data drift, governance), even if not applied at scale yet
