Now Hiring: Console Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Console Technician to join our dynamic medical device manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, programming, and testing complex electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical, and optical sub-assemblies used in medical laser console systems.
· Manufacturing Tech 1 – pay up to $28.32/hr
· Manufacturing Tech 2 – pay up to $33.38/hr
Responsibilities
Assemble and integrate precision electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical, and optical components into medical laser consoles according to work instructions, drawings, and procedures.
Program embedded hardware/software systems and configure firmware or settings as required for system operation.
Conduct functional and diagnostic testing of sub-assemblies and final console systems using custom test fixtures and instrumentation.
Document test results, work performed, and any non-conformances in manufacturing records and databases.
Troubleshoot issues in assembly or test processes and work cross-functionally with engineering to resolve problems.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, cleanroom requirements, and quality system regulations (GMP, ISO).
Support ongoing process improvement, 5S initiatives, and lean manufacturing practices.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment assembling and testing complex sub-systems.
Experience with assembling optical systems (lenses, filters, mirrors, beam paths) and laser safety.
Proficiency with basic hand tools, and mechanical assembly techniques.
Excellent attention to detail and quality mindset.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to sit, stand, and use fine motor skills for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic manufacturing documentation.
Knowledge of ESD procedures and cleanroom protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficient with oscilloscopes, multimeters, optical power meters, and alignment tools.
Strong understanding of laser safety, optical components, and test methodologies.
Skilled in diagnosing electronic, optical, mechanical, and software issues.
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
Work on a 1st shift schedule from 6am to 2:30pm with flexible start times up to 7:30am. The role involves minimal overtime and demands a high degree of precision and adherence to cleanroom protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.32 - $33.28/hr.
