Aerotek Press Brake Operator in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Press Brake / CNC Plasma Operator

Shift: 1st Shift - M-F 6:00am-2:30pm

Shift: 2nd Shift - M-Th 2:00pm-12:00am with option OT on Fridays

Pay Rate: $21-$25 based on experience

Location: Carlisle, PA

Job Description

This role focuses on operating and programming CNC plasma cutting tables in a metal fabrication environment, with cross‑training on press brake, welding, and assembly . You’ll play a key role in producing accurate, quality parts by running machines, handling material, and working closely with engineering and production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and edit programs on CNC plasma cutting tables

  • Load programs, nest parts, and adjust settings based on material type and thickness

  • Load/unload steel plates and finished parts from machines

  • Operate press brake, CNC laser, shear, punch press , and other fabrication equipment as needed

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and nest programs

  • Move material and parts using forklifts, cranes, chains, or lifting devices

  • Perform in‑process quality checks , verify dimensions with calipers, and handle non‑conforming parts per procedure

  • Stage parts for downstream welding and assembly operations

  • Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve issues and improve accuracy

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all shop and safety policies (including no‑cellphone‑on‑the‑floor rules)

Essential Skills

  • Hands‑on experience operating CNC machinery , preferably plasma tables, press brake, or CNC laser

  • Ability to perform basic CNC program edits during production

  • Strong blueprint and work order reading skills

  • Experience loading/unloading material and making machine adjustments

  • Proficiency using measuring tools (calipers, gauges) for quality verification

  • Comfortable working in a loud, hot, or cold shop environment

  • Experience using material handling equipment safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • fabrication, machine, or assembly shop

  • Experience with nesting software and material optimization

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

  • Willingness to cross‑train in welding and assembly

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
