Job Description
*Position Summary: *
The Shipping Supervisor confirms and records the receipt of shipments and prepares items for shipping and receiving. In addition, they are responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures safety first operation of subordinates while demonstrating personal commitment to the safety culture.
- Coordinate and execute transference plans with external partners including customers, suppliers, and transportation providers.
- Understands performance analysis and operational impacts.
- Communicates and creates training, gathers feedback, and recommends operational adjustments.
- Works across functional lines to research and understand operational impacts and solutions that benefit the company.
- Builds strong business partnerships and collaborates with customers, peers, and management.
- Demonstrates logical and systematic thinking skills.
- Utilizes creative methods to generate results and foster teamwork.
- Strong commitment to ongoing personal development.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
- Must have automotive manufacturing shipping and logistics experience.
- Be open and flexible for off shifts including 2nd and 3rd. This is a 2nd Shift position for now.
- At least two years of supervisory experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess the energy and drive to meet deadlines, accomplish goals and find solutions.
- Excellent analytical skills where output data is actionable and accurate.
- Excellent problem solving and follow up skills.
- Strict attention to detail.
