Job Summary:
Under direct supervision the Mfg. Production Technician safely performs one or more of the following Extrusion processes: monitoring process equipment, recording process data, operating various production machines or machinery, sampling/and testing of finished goods and raw materials. All personnel may be required to cross-train in other functional manufacturing areas. Performs special projects and job tasks as assigned. Must maintain quality standards as set by the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Must adhere to all related OSHA, EPA, DEQ, and DOT safety rules and regulations in concurrence with Company’s Policies and Procedures.
Authority to shut down any operation that reveals possible harm to self or another employee.
Must adhere to and be knowledgeable of Company’s Policy and Procedures and must remain abreast of all amendments to the Policy.
Participate in daily safety meetings and all safety programs and strictly comply with all safety procedures.
Must be able to read, interpret and follow all SOP’s and control plans.
Be alert to and notify Lead Operator or Department Supervisor of changes or irregularities on the production line or process.
Monitor scaling equipment to ensure correct batching and formulations of various recipes.
Monitor and manage silo levels to ensure the safe offloading and transfer of incoming raw materials.
Operate extrusion equipment in a safe and controlled manner, according to standard operational procedures.
Monitor and record all process conditions to ensure consistent quality and production targets.
Must be able to perform routine process and recipe changes to accommodate production demands.
Operating Lab equipment, testing incoming raw materials and perform scheduled testing of finished goods.
Must be able to distinguish between various grades of raw materials and reclaimed materials used in our compounding process.
Must have good housekeeping by sweeping and maintaining area during down time.
Analyze current processes to identify improvement potential.
Must be able and willing to work at heights while following all safety procedures.
Work with the maintenance department in troubleshooting equipment to determine problems through proper test procedures and operational checks.
Perform or assist in corrective and preventative maintenance on facility and production equipment as directed through work orders.
Must be willing and able to work rotating 12 hours shifts, as determined by production schedule.
Operating a forklift to move various size pallets or products.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
Entry level.
Basic mechanical aptitude

Location: Carencro, LA
Department: Extrusion
Hours/Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm/6pm-6am), rotating days and nights with days off; weekends are required
Must have reliable transportation
