Aerotek General Production Worker - Weekly Pay in Canton, South Dakota

Job Title: General Production Associate

Job Description

This role supports the assembly of radiators and cooling systems by performing a variety of hands-on production tasks on a 2nd shift schedule. You will rotate through multiple stations on the production line, ensuring products move efficiently through tube stuffing, paint preparation, and final processing while meeting quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate between four primary production stations involved in radiator and cooling system assembly.

  • Perform tube stuffing by inserting a small tube into a larger tube as part of the radiator assembly process.

  • Hang components and hooks on the paint line to prepare radiators and parts for coating.

  • Install plugs in radiators before they enter the paint line to protect internal areas during the painting process.

  • Push approximately 25 small dowels through designated holes in radiators to complete specific assembly steps.

  • Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards at each station.

  • Maintain a steady work pace to support overall production goals and meet shift targets.

  • Inspect parts visually for obvious defects and report any issues or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.

  • Use basic manufacturing and assembly tools and equipment safely and correctly.

  • Keep the work area clean and organized to support a safe and efficient production environment.

  • Collaborate with team members and shift leads to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.

  • Adapt to changing production needs by learning and performing additional tasks as required.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of production or manufacturing experience.

  • Experience in general production, assembly, or working on an assembly line.

  • Ability to perform repetitive, hands-on tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours or the duration of the 10-hour shift as needed.

  • Comfort working in a hot environment without air conditioning.

  • Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing safety practices and procedures.

  • Reliability and consistent attendance

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with machines, welders, and assemblers.

Work Environment

The role is based in a busy manufacturing facility where machines, welders, and assemblers operate in the same building. The environment can be hot and does not have air conditioning, and it can be somewhat dirty due to the nature of production work. The team currently includes around 60 employees and is continuing to grow, creating opportunities to work with a diverse group of coworkers in a collaborative setting. Monday through Thursday, typically structured as 10-hour shifts. Proper personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe footwear, and employees should be prepared for extended periods of standing and performing physical, hands-on tasks throughout the shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
