Salary Range: $66,343- $97,419 (+10 - $20/hour in benefits)

This is an [open]{.underline} examination. To be eligible for the position under this examination, all applicants must be U.S. citizens or have a permanent resident card. Applicants must be a High School graduate or possess a G.E.D. and be at least 18 years of age.

General Statement of Duties:

  • This is a responsible and professional position with lower-level managerial responsibilities
  • Perform professional work which involves the application of civil engineering, surveying, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), or project management to the design, oversight, and construction of public works projects
  • Work is performed under the general direction of applicable professional staff and is subject to review upon completion
  • Assignments are usually broad in scope with the opportunity for the use of professional judgment
  • Application of sound technical principles, practices, and judgment at various levels of project design and construction
  • Work must be performed in accordance with applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • This position is responsible for the direction of work and manner of accomplishment of assigned personnel
  • This is a professional engineering track position
  • This position reports to the Department Head, Assistant Department Head, or their designee

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training as deemed acceptable by the Department Head
  • Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver's License at all times

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Passing score on Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

General knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering, surveying, GIS, project management, or any combination of the above, as needed by the department

Familiarity or basic ability to utilize computer software, including, but not limited to AutoCAD Civil 3D, ESRI, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and water modeling

Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety stan
