Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Finance Operations, the Manager of Commissions is responsible for oversight and management of all broker compensation and Internal Sales commission functions for both Commercial and Medicare business. Key accountabilities include management and oversight of all broker payments and internal sales commissions; partnering with sales leadership on compensation strategies; business process analysis, improvements, and execution; project participation and requirements development; and optimizing commissions payment systems. This position will build and manage a team that delivers quality results efficiently and timely.

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing (top five)
Proactively manage complex business processes to ensure timely and accurate completion. Prioritize work across the team and multiple business processes, and facilitate issue resolution. Interact regularly with management and leadership teams to understand and meet business goals
Manage complex initiatives and project work to ensure accurate and timely completion, and communicate project and team statuses, issues, risks, and recommendations to management
Collaborate closely with business partners, and IT to identify areas of automation and efficiency. Responsible for ongoing day to day vendor relationship management to support finance operations functions
Support, coach, and train staff to ensure a smooth functioning and high performing department; Mentor, motivate and develop staff to obtain maximum performance; Provide performance feedback and reviews
Continuously improve department procedures, management processes and technology solutions. Ensure adherence to corporate controls and polices, and regulatory requirements
Detailed Responsibilities:
Manage finance and business operation functions associated with all broker payments, including monthly commissions, quarterly incentives, and annual bonus.
Manage finance and business operation functions associated with all Internal Sales compensation payments, including monthly and quarterly commissions.
Partner with senior sales leadership on the payment configuration of broker compensation programs and partner with sales to influence the most effective remuneration strategies.
Oversee the day-to-day management and optimization of the compensation system, including all technical aspects and the vendor relationship by coordinating with the Business Analytics and IT teams. Perform business process analysis to make recommendations to key stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications – what you need to perform the job
Education, Certification and Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, operations or related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience (minimum years required):
Minimum 7 years progressive work experience in Finance, Operations, or related work
Experience with broker compensation is required, healthcare experience is preferred.
Experience in hiring, coaching, leading, motivating and managing performance of direct reports.

Requires a high level of initiative and ability to work independently in a high-volume transactional environment with shifting priorities.
Strong operational problem-solving skills with a clear understanding of impacts on downstream departments
Must be able to interpret complex business situations and understand the Financial Operations implication, and work with multiple systems.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with staff, all levels of management and internal stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
Strong critical thinking and solution oriented
Resilient, collaborative, flexible, innovative
Technical proficiency in Excel and database applications is required.
Experience with complex cloud-based payments solutions as a business/technical resource participating on projects, initiatives or production support efforts is required. SAP Callidus/ICM system and Oracle business suite experience is strongly preferred.
Working Conditions and Additional Requirements (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):
Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.

Salary Range
$113,160.00 -$169,740.00

The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization. The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; as well as internal equity. As part of our comprehensive total rewards program, colleagues are also eligible for variable pay. Eligibility for any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits remains in the Company's sole discretion and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
