Job Summary: Cobb Industrial Inc. (CII) is seeking a results-driven Purchasing Manager / Senior Purchaser with expertise in structural steel, fabrication, and construction materials procurement. This role is responsible for leading all purchasing operations, managing vendor relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely procurement of materials critical to project execution. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of steel products (wide flange, plate, rebar, specialty metals), fabrication workflows, and logistics coordination ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and AISC standards. Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end purchasing of structural steel (wide flange, plate, tubing, rebar) and related materials Develop sourcing strategies to reduce costs, improve lead times, and mitigate risk Track steel market trends and pricing to make informed buying decisions Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and suppliers Negotiate pricing, contracts, freight terms, and delivery schedules Evaluate vendor performance (cost, quality, delivery reliability) Partner with Project Managers, Estimators, and Fabrication Teams to forecast material needs Align purchasing schedules with fabrication and erection timelines Ensure all materials meet project specifications and budget constraints Oversee receiving, reconciliation, and tracking of Bills of Lading (BOLs) Ensure proper documentation of Mill Test Reports (MTRs) and heat numbers Collaborate with teams to manage inventory and deliveries Maintain compliance with AISC standards and internal quality processes Utilize ERP systems (Vista, Tekla PowerFab) to manage purchasing workflows Analyze data to track cost savings, vendor performance, and KPIs Continuously improving procurement processes and controls Manage purchasing of tools, equipment rentals, and operational supplies Coordinate travel logistics for field teams as needed Monitor and control departmental spending Qualifications: Strategic sourcing and cost control Vendor negotiation and relationship management High attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word (Advanced Proficiency Preferred) ERP / Purchasing Systems (Vista, Tekla PowerFab a plus) Reporting and Data analysis On-site role based in Holly Springs, GA Primarily office-based with regular coordination across shop, yard, and field teams Occasional after-hours availability for urgent field or procurement needs Required Skills: 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience Background in structural steel, construction, or fabrication Strong negotiation and vendor management experience Understanding of steel materials, supply chain logistics, and project workflows Preferred Skills: Familiarity with AISC standards Experience with Vista and/or Tekla PowerFab Knowledge of steel documentation (MTRs, heat numbers, BOLs) Employee Benefits: Vacation Paid Holidays after 90 days of consecutive full-time employment Employee Benefits Include (after 30 days of consecutive full-time employment): Group Medical Insurance - Company pays 75% portion of the employees individual.
