Maxim Crane Works LLC Safety Intern in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
Purpose The Safety Intern will support the safety team in promoting a strong safety culture by assisting with risk management activities, safety programs, and compliance efforts. This role provides hands-on exposure to environmental health and safety (EHS) practices across construction, general industry, and DOT-related operations. * Assist safety professionals in supporting field leadership with implementation of the company's Safety Program * Participate in incident and near-miss investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and helping identify root causes and corrective actions * Support jobsite safety inspections and audits; help identify hazards and track corrective actions * Assist in maintaining safe facilities by observing work conditions and recommending improvements under supervision * Help coordinate and deliver basic safety training and toolbox talks * Support OSHA compliance efforts by learning regulations and assisting with documentation and recordkeeping * Assist in collecting and organizing safety data, metrics, and reports * Participate in daily risk evaluation or pre-task planning meetings to observe hazard identification and mitigation processes * Support administrative aspects of safety programs, including documentation, filing, and reporting * Assist with environmental and safety compliance initiatives across job sites and facilities * Shadow safety professionals during jobsite visits, audits, and safety meetings to gain practical field experience * Perform other duties as assigned to support the safety team Requirements Education: * Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field * Completion of OSHA 10-hour course preferred (or willingness to obtain during internship) Experience: * No prior professional experience required * Previous coursework, internships, or exposure to safety, construction, or industrial environments is a plus Skills/Knowledge: * Strong interest in workplace safety and risk management * Basic analytical and problem-solving skills * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred * Willingness to learn and engage in both field and office environments Language Skills: Must be able to read and comprehend To view the full job description please use the link below. https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=YmJnZW5lcmljLjA0MjAxLjEwODY1QG1heGltY3JhbmVjb21wLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ
