Legrand NA Planner/Scheduler - Contract Manufacturing Specialist in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
Position Description
Legrand has an opportunity for a Planner/Scheduler - Contract Manufacturing Specialist to join the Data Center Power and Control Division Starline Team in Southpointe/ Canonsburg, PA. This role manages daily planning, scheduling, and execution of customer demand across external manufacturing partners. The position works closely with Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Contract Manufacturers (CMOs) to maintain accurate schedules, align capacity, resolve constraints, and support strong performance in On‑Time Delivery, Schedule Attainment, and Capacity Utilization.
What Will You Do?
Manage customer orders from entry through shipment, coordinating production commitments with CMOs to support on‑time delivery.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Contract Manufacturers.
Develop, maintain, and communicate external production schedules to support strong schedule attainment across all contract manufacturing sites.
Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to support material availability, documentation accuracy, and capacity alignment.
Review CMO capacity and utilization regularly to identify overloads, bottlenecks, and opportunities to rebalance or level‑load demand.
Provide timely communication to internal teams regarding order status, schedule changes, and risks to on‑time delivery.
Identify material shortages, capacity conflicts, or documentation constraints; escalate and support resolution of issues that may impact schedule execution.
Conduct early order reviews to validate BOMs, routings, material requirements, and production instructions before releasing demand to CMOs.
Monitor execution against the external production schedule and support corrective actions when schedule attainment is at risk.
Analyze ERP data to identify root causes of delays, past‑due orders, or capacity mismatches, and partner with teams and CMOs to implement corrective actions.
Communicate delivery impacts, recovery plans, and capacity insights to planning leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Support inventory accuracy, material issue resolution, and expedited work needed to protect customer commitments.
Assist with reporting, continuous improvement activities, and planning‑related projects as assigned.
Perform additional duties as required by management.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience:
3 plus years of planning, scheduling, or relevant supply chain experience within an ERP system.
Experience in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Familiarity with ERP (SyteLine 8.0 preferred), DRP, MRP, or MRPII systems.
Project management experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and evaluate situations to identify effective solutions.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to create clear reports, presentations, and business correspondence; using data retrieval or reporting tools a plus (e.g., Access, Crystal Reports).
Demonstrated accountability for meeting commitments and delivering results.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Solid business acumen and understanding of cross‑functional operations.
Ability to travel to nearby facilities approximately once per month.
