Description
The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a key hourly associate position within Amazon Operations. To keep our 24/7 operations network secure and ensure operational continuity, we are looking for hands-on, detail-oriented professionals to join our team.
The LPS leads the effort to efficiently and effectively protect people, product, and data (lives, physical property, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property) in a designated building.
The LPS reports to the Security and Loss Prevention Cluster Manager responsible for their geographical area and supports the Operational team and cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
This position is site-based; however, it may require supporting multiple business units with local travel up to 25%.
Key job responsibilities
Conduct confidential investigations and prepare prompt written reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents
Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities (e.g., loss, associate experience, process improvement, data protection, physical security infrastructure) and define appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards
Ensure internal controls per Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements related to area are fulfilled;
Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods to drive process improvements and increase efficiency;
Serve as department liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert for site leadership keeping them informed on key issues, strategies, and the department’s performance
Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostic for problematic devices by engaging and resolving issues with internal and external partners
Serve as point of contact for and coordinate measures to manage risk with local management and external teams (e.g., law enforcement agencies and industry associations) on all security-related matters
Ensure compliance of your assigned sites with Amazon global security standards
Travel up to 25% including one week training for Global Security Operations Onboarding
A day in the life
As a Loss Prevention Specialist, you will join a team of Security and Loss Prevention professionals delivering security services to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area.
Perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events. During your investigations, you collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings help identify vulnerabilities in our processes, for which you contribute to the development of mitigating measures.
You interact daily with our external security service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience. You also act as the point of contact for multiple internal and external departments (e.g., legal, HR, security service providers, local law enforcement) and as a subject matter expert in Security and Loss Prevention matters.

WWOS creates and maintains a work environment that is prepared and secure through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
Experience in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, audit, investigations, law enforcement, risk management, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance or a related field
Experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including intermediate knowledge of Excel to manipulate and analyze data
Work a flexible work schedule including evenings, overnights, and weekends
Travel up to 30% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in transportation or supply chain within a high-volume logistics, manufacturing or engineering environment
Knowledge of Six Sigma tools, Lean techniques, PMP or similar standards preferred
Experience with tools/systems to analyze data including Excel, Access, SQL or other data management systems
Experience within a distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing environment
Experience in conducting investigative work, including claimant, witness, and target employee interviews, investigative data analysis, and production of investigative documentation
Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in managing and troublshooting network
