The Opportunity:
Join KBR as a Configuration and Data Management Specialist to act as the functional authority for CM/DM, supporting key programs and capture activities. You will define and enhance processes, tools, and practices for managing and analysing configuration data from multiple systems. This role offers the chance to influence enterprise-wide approaches while enabling better decision-making through high-quality data insights.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney/.
The successful candidate must be eligible to hold a AGSVA security clearance.
Responsibilities:
Act as Discipline Lead, covering configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audit & surveillance
Define, design, and continuously improve processes, tools, and technical workflows across the environment
Lead configuration data analysis, modelling, comparison, and remediation activities to ensure data integrity and support decision-making
Provide expert support and advice to the Chief Engineer, Principal Engineers, and broader program stakeholders
Oversee data governance, assurance frameworks, and quality controls, ensuring compliance with organisational and regulatory standards
Support the operation and evolution of product lifecycle management and configuration data management tools
Perform data conversion, validation, and preparation activities to enable accurate upload into configuration data management environments
Lead stakeholder engagement activities including workshops, system testing, remediation, and coordination of configuration changes and improvements
Support internal and external audits, access management, and data integrity assurance processes across the configuration environment
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
Extensive experience in an engineering role within a highly regulated environment
Strong expertise in Configuration Management principles applied in both strategic and operational contexts
Experience across sustainment and acquisition programs, including systems integration and design
Background in Defence domains such as Air, Maritime, Land, Space or Cyber
Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycles, including requirements management, traceability, CI hierarchies, and baselines
Solid knowledge of enterprise data concepts including governance, architecture, modelling, and analytics
Experience using Configuration/Data Management tools and PLM systems (e.g. DOORS, AMPS, CMT-U, NAVALLOW) and tailoring workflows to business needs
Demonstrated experience delivering business improvement initiatives, including process mapping and re-engineering
Eligible for ITAR clearance and able to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance
Desirable:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related discipline
Defence industry experience in design, support, or sustainment environments
Experience in data quality, integrity, and large-scale data analysis or integration
Understanding of agile and waterfall lifecycles and their impact on configuration and data management
Experience with digital engineering tools and data modelling approaches
