Thompson Health Registered Nurse - Observation Unit in Canandaigua, New York
Description
Schedule: Full Time, Day/Evening/Night with weekend and holiday requirements

The Observation unit RN will provide care to patients who require close monitoring and short-term care often due to acute conditions that don't necessitate full inpatient admission but do need more than an Emergency Room stay.
Job responsibilities:
Assessment of patients to monitor for changes in patients' condition
Treatment and medication administration
Documentation of patient status and response to treatment
Education of patient and family on treatment plan, discharge instructions and care protocols related to their condition
Coordination of Care with physicians, case managers and other members of the health care team to ensure a safe discharge or full admission to the hospital
Requirements:
Graduate of approved school of nursing
BSN or working towards a BSN or professional certification with in one year of employment preferred.
NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
2 to 5 years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
Current BLS required, ACLS preferred
Good Communication skills and skilled in customer service
Reliability and flexibility
Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times.
Position Pay Range: $38.00-50.00/hour
Starting Pay: Based on experience
