Immediate Office of the Chief of Naval Operations SECURITY SPECIALIST in Camp H.M. Smith Marine Corp Base, Hawaii
Summary You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST within HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND. Responsibilities You will review and processes various security related documents used for requesting access to controlled and restricted areas, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and customer needs. You will research, interprets, analyzes and applies all appropriate security related policies and regulations. You will work closely with appointed J-code security managers and action officers to ensure visitors and all personnel are authorized access and issued appropriate access control badges commensurate to visitor’s security clearance eligibility. You will troubleshoot all discrepancies and anomalies associated with the IPSS; correct, log and report all discrepancies/anomalies to the IPSS manager, Access Control Supervisor, Physical Security Specialist and Chief of Security. You will implement security programs in conjunction with the Special Security Office (SSO) to ensure Top Secret/SCI access control badges and courier badges are issued in accordance with all DoD, DoN and HQ USINDOPACOM policies and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing and validating visitor authorization requests and issuing badges or credentials for entry into controlled or restricted facilities. 2) Monitoring and assessing physical security operations by observing facility access points, responding to alarm activations and coordinating with security personnel. 3) Maintaining security documentation, verifying required authorization materials, and entering and updating information in security databases. 4) Coordinating visitor control activities by working with security managers and internal staff to ensure personnel and visitors meet all requirements prior to entering secure facilities. GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with access control operations by reviewing visitor requests, verifying identification documents, and preparing passes for entry into controlled or restricted facilities. 2) Supporting physical security operations by monitoring building entrances and surveillance systems, observing suspicious activity and reporting security concerns or alarms activations to appropriate security personnel. 3) Assisting with processing of security documentation by collecting required forms, entering information into security databases, and ensuring required documentation is complete. 4) Providing administrative support to a security office by maintaining security files, updating records in a security system and preparing routine reports or correspondence related to security operations.
