Amergis ICU Nurses Needed – Make a Difference When It Matters Most! in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
The ICU RN is a highly skilled and compassionate nursing professional responsible for delivering critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. This role demands advanced clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ICU RN works closely with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to provide continuous monitoring, complex interventions, and holistic care in a high-acuity environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill patients
Perform comprehensive assessments including hemodynamic monitoring, neurological checks, and ventilator management
Administer and titrate IV medications, including vasoactive drips, sedatives, and analgesics
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and lab results
Collaborate with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans
Manage advanced life support equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and CRRT machines
Provide post-operative care for high-risk surgical patients
Educate patients and families on critical illness, procedures, and recovery expectations
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
Respond rapidly to emergencies including codes, respiratory failure, and sepsis
Advocate for patients and uphold their rights and confidentiality
Minimum Requirements
Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice
Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; ICU or critical care experience preferred
Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)
Current BLS and ACLS certification (PALS preferred)
TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)
Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Successful completion of new hire orientation and ICU-specific training
Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
Basic computer literacy
Must be at least 18 years of age
