U.S. Marine Corps MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in Camp Foster, Japan

You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Facilities Maintenance Branch, G-F Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER. Responsibilities You will supervise personnel performing maintenance, repair, installation, and operations in various trade disciplines. You will manage an aligned, engaged, high-performing team, and lead by example. You will ensure compliance with applicable laws regulations and policies, including merit system principles. You will plan, assign, and review the work for Emergency Services Detachment Unit providing technical guidance to subordinates as required. You will supervise the trades and labor occupations and work operations within the Power Plant Section. You will participate in meetings and conferences. Overseeing maintenance, repair, installation, and operations in various trade disciplines to include plumbing, welding/sheet metal, boiler operation and maintenance, machinist, galley equipment maintenance, and Water System Operations and Maintenance, ensuring compliance with applicable laws regulations, and policies; plans, assigns, and reviews work of subordinates. Conditions of Employment continued: -Incumbent may be required to enter manholes, climb ladders, stoop, bend, crawl, etc. in the performance of their duties. Must be alert to electrical shock hazards and the possibility of falling on uneven terrain or from heights. Subjected to extreme temperatures/high humidity, bad weather (6-month typhoon season), unpleasant odors, polluted water, and hard to reach/remote dusty/noisy work sites which may use hazardous oils or chemicals. -Incumbent is occasionally exposed to bad weather, extreme temperatures, poisonous chemicals, infection, unpleasant odors, polluted water, and hard to reach work sites. May travel to work sites that are hot, dusty, and noisy, and which my use oils or chemicals in work operations that present various hazards - Incumbent shall, at minimum, be fully qualified/certified in the following within 6 months after assuming the duties of this position: a. Certified Backflow Prevention Device Tester b.
