Description

Job Title: Entry-Level Tool Room Attendant

Department: Production

Location: Butler Weldments Cameron, TX

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Description Summary:

The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for supporting shop operations by organizing, maintaining, and distributing tools, equipment, and supplies. This entry-level role ensures welders and fabricators have the resources they need to perform their work efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of tool inventory, weld wire, consumables, and usage.

  • Clean, organize, and maintain the tool room in a safe and orderly manner

  • Assist with stocking and restocking supplies (grinding discs, welding wire, PPE, etc.)

  • Create purchase requisitions for materials that are needed.

  • Track and coordinate tool repairs and replacements

  • Support basic maintenance of shop equipment as needed

  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies

  • Assist supervisors or leads with additional tasks as assigned

  • Assist with creating inventory usage reports.

    Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • 0-2years experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shop environment (preferred but not required)

  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools (welding/fabrication tools a plus)

  • Ability to learn inventory tracking systems

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Dependable with a strong work ethic

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This full-time position operates in a production environment. Physical effort consists of frequent handling of light to average weight tools or materials, some handling of heavy weights, some pulling, pushing. The employee must be able to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
