Precision Resource Canada located in Cambridge, ON, is looking for a problem solver. This individual will be responsible for process improvement activities. If you like challenges, enjoy identifying and resolving problems, have had experience in process improvements and love working with statistical data from obtaining to analyzing it and utilizing it to optimize manufacturing processes, we want to talk to you!
Responsibilities:
Identifies customer needs and defines project scopes
Determines what to measure and validates measuring systems, quantifies current performance and estimates improvement targets
Identifies causes of variation and defects, provides statistical evidence that causes are real
Determines solutions including operating levels and tolerances, installs solutions and provides statistical evidence that solutions work
Puts controls in place to maintain improvement over time, provides statistical evidence that the improvement is sustained.
Data collection and analysis
Reduce defects and maximize product and service quality.
Apply lean principles to remove process steps with no added value and reduce waste
Leads cross-functional teams to achieve diverse objectives in replicable, scalable ways
Communication and implement changes to improve efficiency, workflow and productivity
Reviews team tasks and addresses/removes obstacles
Demonstrates proficiency with statistical and process management software
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; Lean Six Sigma training and demonstrated ability to apply the methodology to complex projects.
Degree or Diploma in Engineering
Minimum 3 years’ experience in project / process improvement
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (Automotive is preferred)
Industrial Engineering experience is preferred
Will have thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS-Office (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT)
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
